but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. b[Luke 21:38] Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, andcMatt. 5:1; Luke 4:20 he sat down and taught them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. NowdLev. 20:10; Deut. 22:22 in the Law Moses commanded useDeut. 22:24; Ezek. 16:38, 40 to stone such women. So what do you say? ” This they saidfMatt. 16:1; 19:3; 22:18, 35; Mark 8:11; 10:2; 12:15; Luke 10:25; 11:16 to test him,gSee Luke 11:54 that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, hRom. 2:1, 22 “Let him who is without sin among youiDeut. 17:7 be the first to throw a stone at her. ” And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. 10 Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? ” 11 She said, “No one, Lord. ” And Jesus said, jver. 15; [ch. 3:17; Luke 12:14] “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now onkch. 5:14 sin no more. ” ]]

I Am the Light of the World
