The end has come upon the four corners of the land.1Or earth 3 Nowb[See ver. 2 above] the end is upon you, andcSee ver. 8 I will send my anger upon you;dSee ch. 18:30 I will judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. 4 eSee ch. 5:11 And my eye will not spare you, nor will I have pity, butfch. 9:10; 11:21; 16:43; 22:31 I will punish you for your ways, while your abominations are in your midst.gSee ch. 6:7 Then you will know that I am the Lord.
5 Thus says the Lord God : Disasterh[ch. 5:9] after disaster! Behold, it comes. 6 b[See ver. 2 above] An end has come; the end has come; it has awakened against you. Behold, it comes. 7 iver. 10 Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land.jZeph. 1:14, 15; [ch. 12:23] The time has come; the day is near, a day of tumult, and notk[Jer. 25:30] of joyful shouting on the mountains. 8 Now I will soonlch. 9:8; 14:19; 20:8, 13, 21, 33, 34; 22:22; 36:18 pour out my wrath upon you, andmSee ch. 5:13 spend my anger against you,d[See ver. 3 above] and judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. 9 e[See ver. 4 above] And my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst.n[ch. 6:7] Then you will know that I am the Lord, who strikes.

Let nott[Isa. 24:2; 1 Cor. 7:29, 30] the buyer rejoice, nort[Isa. 24:2; 1 Cor. 7:29, 30] the seller mourn,uver. 14 for wrath is upon all their multitude.1Or abundance; also verses 13, 14 13 ForvLev. 25:13, 14 the seller shall not return to what he has sold, while they live.wSee ch. 9:8-10 For the vision concerns all their multitude; it shall not turn back; and because of his iniquity, none can maintain his life.

Shame is on all faces, andfSee Isa. 3:24 baldness on all their heads. 19 They cast their silver into the streets, and their gold is like an unclean thing.gProv. 11:4; Zeph. 1:18 Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord. Thereforel[ch. 9:7; 24:21; 25:3] I make it an unclean thing to them. 21 And I will give it into the hands ofmSee ch. 28:7 foreigners for prey,n[ver. 24; ch. 23:46] and to the wicked of the earth for spoil, andl[See ver. 20 above] they shall profane it. 22 I will turn my face from them, andl[See ver. 20 above] they shall profane my treasured1Or secret place. Robbers shall enterl[See ver. 20 above] and profane it.
23 o[Jer. 27:2] Forge a chain!pch. 8:17; 9:9; 11:6; 22:3, 4; Jer. 6:7 For the land is full of bloody crimesq[ver. 11] and the city is full of violence. 24 I will bringr[ver. 21; Hab. 1:6, 13] the worst of the nations to take possession of their houses.s[ver. 11] I will put an end to the pride of the strong,tSee ver. 20 and their holy places shall be profaned. 25 u[ver. 2] When anguish comes,v[Jer. 6:14; 8:15; 1 Thess. 5:3] they will seek peace, but there shall be none. 26 w[Jer. 4:20] Disaster comes upon disaster;xSee Job 1:16-19 rumor follows rumor.y[ch. 20:1, 3; Ps. 74:9] They seek a vision from the prophet, whilez[Mal. 2:7] the law1Or instruction perishes from the priest anda[1 Kgs. 12:6] counsel from the elders. 27 The king mourns, the prince is wrapped in despair, and the hands of the people of the land are paralyzed by terror. According to their wayb[ver. 4] I will do to them, and according to their judgments I will judge them,cSee ch. 6:7 and they shall know that I am the Lord. ”
