1:3 but at the proper time manifested,revealed even His word, in the proclamation with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior,;
1:4 To Titus, my true childson in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.
1:6 namely, if any man is abovebeyond reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipationindecent behavior or rebellion.
1:7 For the overseer must be abovebeyond reproach as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addictedoverindulging toin wine, not pugnaciousa bully, not fondgreedy offor sordid gainmoney,
1:8 but hospitable, loving what is good, sensibleself-controlled, justrighteous, devoutholy, self-controlleddisciplined,
1:9 holding fastfirmly the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict it.
1:10 For there are many rebellious menpeople, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,
1:11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordiddishonest gain.
1:12 One of themselvesthem, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.”
1:13 This testimony is true. For this reason reprovereprimand them severely so that they may be sound in the faith,
2:1 But as for you, speakproclaim the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.
2:2 Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensibleself-controlled, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.
2:9 Urge bondslavesslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative,
2:10 not pilferingstealing, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.
2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all menpeople,
2:12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age,
2:14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealouseager for good deeds.
2:15 These things speak and exhort, and reproverebuke with all authority. LetNo no one is to disregard you.
3:2 to malignslander no one, not to be peaceablecontentious, to be gentle, showing every consideration for all menpeople.
3:3 For we alsotoo were once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.
3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we havedid done in righteousness, but accordingin toaccordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
3:6 whom He richly poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
3:8 This statement is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitablebeneficial for menpeople.
3:9 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitableuseless and worthless.
3:10 Reject a factiousdivisive manperson after a first and second warning,
3:11 knowing that such a manperson has deviated from what is pervertedright and is sinning, being self-condemned.
3:14 Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitfulunproductive.
