16:18 O earthEarth, do not cover my blood, And letmay there be no resting place for my cry.
16:20 My friends are my scoffers; My eye weeps to God.,
16:21 OThat thatone might plead for a man might plead with God As a son of man with his neighbor!
17:2 SurelyMockers mockers are certainly with me, And my eye gazes on their provocation.
17:3 LayMake down, now, a pledge for me with Yourself; Who is there that will be my guarantor?
17:4 For You have kept their hearthearts away from understanding,; Therefore You will not exalt them.
17:5 He who informs against friends for a share of the spoilspoils, The eyes of his children also will languishperish.
17:6 “But He has made me a bywordproverb ofamong the people, And I am one at whom menpeople spit.
17:7 My eye has also grownbecome diminexpressive because of grief, And all my membersbody parts are aslike a shadow.
17:8 The upright will be appalled at this, And the innocent will stir himself up himself against the godless.
17:9 Nevertheless the righteous will hold to his way, And hethe one who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.
17:11 My days are past, my plans are torn apart, EvenThe the wishes of my heart.
17:13 If I lookhope for Sheol as my home, I make my bed in the darkness;
17:14 If I call to the pitgrave, ‘You are my father’; To the wormmaggot, ‘my mother and my sister’;
17:15 Where nowthen is my hope? And who regardslooks at my hope?
17:16 Will it go down with me to Sheol? Shall we together go down into the dust?”
18:2 “How long will you hunt for words? Show understanding, and then we can talk.
18:3 Why are we regarded as beastsanimals, As stupid in your eyes?
18:4 O youYou who tear yourself in your anger— ForShould your sake is the earth to be abandoned for your sake, Or the rock to be moved from its place?
18:5 “Indeed, the light of the wicked goes out, And the flamespark offrom his fire givesdoes nonot lightshine.
18:7 His vigorous stride is shortened, And his own schemeplan brings him down.
18:10 A noose for him is hidden in the ground, And a trap for him on the pathpathway.
18:11 All around sudden terrors frighten him, And harryharass him at every step.
18:12 His strength is famished, And calamitydisaster is ready at his side.
18:13 His skinIt isdevours devouredparts byof diseasehis skin, The firstborn of death devours his limbs.
18:15 There Nothing of his dwells in his tent nothing of his; Brimstone is scattered on his habitationhome.
18:16 His roots are dried below, And his branch iswithers cut off above.
18:17 MemoryThe memory of him perishes from the earth, And he has no name abroad.
18:18 He is driven from light into darkness, And chased from the inhabited world.
18:19 He has no offspring or posteritydescendants among his people, Nor any survivor where he sojournedresided.
18:21 SurelyCertainly suchthese are the dwellings of the wicked, And this is the place of him who does not know God.”
19:4 Even if I have truly erreddone wrong, My error lodgesstays with me.
19:5 If indeed you vauntexalt yourselves against me And prove my disgrace to me,
19:6 Know then that God has wronged me And has closedsurrounded me with His net around me.
19:8 He has walledblocked up my way so that I cannot pass, And He has put darkness on my paths.
19:12 His troops come together, And build up their way against me And camp around my tent.
19:13 “He has removed my brothers far from me, And my acquaintances arehave completely estrangedturned away from me.
19:14 My relatives have failed, And my intimateclose friends have forgotten me.
19:15 Those who live in my house and my maidsservant women consider me a stranger. I am a foreigner in their sight.
19:16 I call to my servant, but he does not answer; I have to implore himhis favor with my mouth.
19:18 Even young children despise me; I risestand up and they speak against me.
19:19 All my associates abhorloathe me, And those I love have turned against me.
19:21 Pity me, pity me, O you myfriends friendsof mine, For the hand of God has struck me.
19:23 “Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribedrecorded in a book!
19:25 AsYet as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, And at the last, He will take His stand on the earth.
19:26 Even after my skin is destroyed, Yet from my flesh I shallwill see God;,
19:27 Whom I, myselfon my part, shall behold for myself, And whom my eyes will see, and not another. My heart faints within me!
20:1 Then Zophar the Naamathite answeredresponded,
20:3 I listened to the reproofreprimand which insults me, And the spirit of my understanding makes me answer.
20:4 Do you know this from ofancient oldtimes, From the establishment of manmankind on earth,
20:5 That the triumphingrejoicing of the wicked is short, And the joy of the godless momentary?
20:6 Though his loftinessarrogance reaches the heavens, And his head touches the clouds,
20:8 He flies away like a dream, and they cannot find him; EvenLike like a vision of the night he is chased away.
20:11 His bones are full of his youthful vigorstrength, But it lies down with him in the dust.
20:12 “Though evil istastes sweet in his mouth And he hides it under his tongue,
20:16 He sucks the poison of cobras; The viper’s tongue slayskills him.
20:18 He returns whatthe heproduct hasof attainedhis labor And cannot swallow it; As to the riches of his trading, He cannot even enjoy them.
20:19 For he has oppressed and forsakenneglected the poor; He has seized a house which he has not built.
20:22 In the fullness of his plentyexcess he will be cramped; The hand of everyone who suffers will come against him.
20:23 When he fills his belly, God will send His fierce anger on him And will rain it on him while he is eating.
20:25 It is drawn forth and comes out of his back, Even the glitteringflashing point from his gall.gallbladder; Terrors come upon him,
20:27 The heavens will reveal his iniquityguilt, And the earth will rise up against him.
20:28 The increase of his house will departdisappear; His possessions will flow away inon the day of His anger.
20:29 This is thea wicked manperson’s portion from God, EvenThe theinheritance heritage decreed to him by God.”
21:1 Then Job answeredresponded,
21:3 Bear with me that I may speak; Then after I have spoken, you may mock me.
21:4 As for me, is my complaint to mana mortal? AndOr why should I not be impatient?
21:7 Why do the wicked still live, ContinueGrow onold, and also become very powerful?
21:8 Their descendants areendure established with them in their sight, And their offspring before their eyes,
21:10 His ox mates without fail; His cow calves and does not abortmiscarry.
21:11 They send forthout their littleboys ones like the flock, And their children skip aboutdance.
21:12 They sing towith the timbreltambourine and harp, And rejoice at the sound of the flute.
21:14 TheyYet they say to God, ‘DepartGo away from us! We do not even desire the knowledge of Your ways.
21:15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve Him, And what would we gain if we entreatplead with Him?’
21:16 Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand; The counseladvice of the wicked is far from me.
21:17 “How often is the lamp of the wicked put out, Or does their calamitydisaster fall on them? Does God apportion destruction in His anger?
21:19 You say, ‘God storessaves awayup a manperson’s iniquitywrongdoing for his sons.’ Let God repay him so that he may know it.
21:20 Let his own eyes see his decaydestruction, And let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
21:21 For what does he care forabout his household after him, When the number of his months is cutat offan end?
21:23 One dies in his full strength, Being wholly undisturbed and at ease and satisfied;
21:24 His sides are filled out with fat, And the marrow of his bones is moistwet,
21:26 Together they lie down in the dust, And wormsmaggots cover them.
21:27 “Behold, I know your thoughts, And the plansplots by which you woulddevise wrongagainst me.
21:29 Have you not asked wayfaring mentravelers, And do you not recognizeexamine their witnessevidence?
21:30 For the wicked person is reservedspared fora the day of calamitydisaster; They willare be led forthaway atfrom thea day of fury.
21:31 Who willconfronts confront him with his actions, And who willrepays repay him for what he has done?
21:32 WhileWhen he is carried to the grave, MenPeople will keep watch over his tomb.
21:33 The clods of the valley will gently cover him; Moreover, all menmankind will follow after him, While countless onesothers go before him.
21:34 HowSo thenhow willdare you vainlygive me empty comfort? me, For your answers remain fullnothing ofbut falsehood?”!”
22:2 “Can a vigorousstrong man be of use to God, Or a wise manone be useful to himself?
22:3 Is thereit any pleasure to the Almighty if you are righteous, Or profitgain if you make your ways perfectblameless?
22:4 Is it because of your reverence that He reprovespunishes you, That He enters into judgment against you?
22:5 Is not your wickedness greatnot abundant, And youris iniquitiesthere withoutno end to your guilty deeds?
22:6 For you have takenseized pledges offrom your brothers without cause, And stripped menpeople naked.
22:7 ToYou have given the weary you have given no water to drink, And from the hungry you have withheld bread from the hungry.
22:8 But the earth belongs to the mightypowerful man, And the one who is honorable man dwells inon it.
22:9 You have sent widows away empty, And the strength of the orphans has been crushed.
22:10 Therefore snarestraps surround you, And sudden dread terrifies you,
22:11 Or darkness, so that you cannot see, And ana abundanceflood of water covers you.
22:12 “Is God not God in the height of heaven? Look also at the distanthighest stars, how high they are!
22:13 YouBut you say, ‘What does God know? Can He judge through the thick darkness?
22:15 Will you keep to the ancient path Which wicked menpeople have trodwalked,
22:17 They said to God, ‘DepartGo away from us!’ And ‘What can the Almighty do to them?’
22:18 Yet He filled their houses with good things; But the counseladvice of the wicked is far from me.
22:19 The righteous see and are glad, And the innocent mock them, saying,
22:20 Saying, ‘Truly our adversariesenemies are cut offeliminated, And their abundance the fire has consumed their abundance.’
22:21 YieldBe nowreconciled with Him, and be at peace with Him; Thereby good will come to you.
22:22 Please receive instruction from His mouth, And establishput His words in your heart.
22:23 If you return to the Almighty, you will be restored; If you remove unrighteousnessinjustice far from your tent,
22:24 And placeput your gold in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks,
22:25 Then the Almighty will be your gold And choiceabundant silver to you.
22:26 For then you will delighttake pleasure in the Almighty And lift up your face to God.
22:28 You will also decreedecide a thingsomething, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways.
22:29 When youthey arehave castbrought downyou low, you will speak with confidence, And He will save the humble person He will save.
22:30 He will deliverrescue one who is not innocent, And he will be deliveredrescued throughdue to the cleanness of your hands.”
23:1 Then Job repliedresponded,
23:3 Oh that I knew wherehow Ito might find Him, That I might come to His seathome!
23:5 I would learn the words which He would answer, And perceive what He would saytell to me.
23:7 There the upright would reasonargue with Him; And I would be deliveredfree foreverof from my Judge forever.
23:9 When He acts on the left, I cannot beholdsee Him; He turns onto the right, but I cannot see Him.
23:10 But He knows the way I take; When He has triedput me to the test, I shallwill come forthout as gold.
23:11 My foot has held faston to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.
23:12 I have not departedfailed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
23:13 But He is unique, and who can turnmake Him turn? AndWhatever what His soul desires, that He does it.
23:14 For He performscarries out what is appointeddestined for me, And many such decreesdestinies are with Him.
23:15 Therefore, I would be dismayedterrified at His presence; When I consider this, I am terrifiedfrightened of Him.
23:16 It is God who has made my heart faint, And the Almighty who has dismayedterrified me,
23:17 But I am not silenceddestroyed by the darkness, Nor by deep gloom which covers me.
24:2 Some People remove the landmarks; They seize and devour flocks.
24:3 They drive away the donkeys of the orphans; They takeseize the widow’s ox foras a pledge.
24:4 They push the needy aside from the road; The poor of the land arehave made to hide themselves altogethertogether.
24:5 Behold, aslike wild donkeys in the wilderness They go forthout seekingscavenging for food in their activity, As bread for their children in the desert.
24:6 They harvest their fodderfeed in the field And glean the vineyard of the wicked.
24:8 They are wet withfrom the mountain rains, And they hug the rock for wantlack of a shelter.
24:9 Others snatch thean orphan from the breast, And againstthey theseize poorit theyas take a pledge against the poor.
24:10 They causeThe the poor tomove go about naked without clothing, And they takecarry away the sheaves, fromwhile thegoing hungry.
24:11 Within the walls they produce oil; They tread wine presses but thirstgo thirsty.
24:12 From the city menpeople groan, And the souls of the wounded cry outfor help; Yet God does not pay attention to follythe offensiveness.
24:13 “Others have been with those who rebel against the light; They do not want to know its ways Nor abidestay in its paths.
24:14 The murderer arises at dawn; He kills the poor and the needy, And at night he is aslike a thief.
24:15 The eye of the adulterer waitswatches for the twilight, Saying, ‘No eye will see me.’ And he disguises his face.
24:16 In the darkdarkness they dig into houses, They shut themselves up by day; They do not know the light.
24:18 “They are insignificant on the surface of the water; Their portionplot isof cursedland on the earth is cursed. They do not turn toward the vineyards.
24:19 DroughtDryness and heat consumesnatch away the snow waters, SoAs does Sheol snatches those who have sinned.
24:20 A mother will forget him; The wormmaggot feeds sweetly tilluntil he is no longer remembered. And wickednessinjustice will be broken like a tree.
24:21 He wrongs the barreninfertile woman, And does no good for the widow.
24:22 But He drags off the valiantmighty by His power; He rises, but no one has assurance of life.
24:24 They are exalted a little while, then they are gone; Moreover, they are brought low, and like everything they are gathered up; EvenLike like the heads of grain they are cut offwither.
25:1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answeredresponded,
25:2 “Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishesmakes peace in His heights.
25:4 How then can amankind man be justrighteous with God? Or how can heanyone be clean who is born of woman be pure?
25:6 How much less man, that maggot, And thea son of man, that worm!”
26:2 “What a help you are to the weak! HowYou you have saved the arm without strength!
26:3 What counseladvice you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!
26:5 “The departed spirits are made to tremble Under the waters and their inhabitants.
26:6 Naked Sheol is Sheolnaked before Him, And Abaddon has no covering.
26:12 With His power He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.
27:1 Then Job continuedagain took up his discourse and said,
27:5 Far be it from me that I should declare you right; TillUntil I die, I will not putgive awayup my integrity from me.
27:6 I have kept hold fastof my righteousness and will not let it go. My heart does not reproachrebuke any of my days.
27:7 “May my enemy be as the wicked, And my opponent as the unjustcriminal.
27:8 For what is the hope of the godless when he ismakes cutan offend of life, When God requires his life?
27:10 WillOr will he take delightpleasure in the Almighty? Will he call on God at all times?
27:12 Behold, all of you have seen it; Why then do you acttalk foolishlyof nothing?
27:13 “This is the portion of a wicked manperson from God, And the inheritance which tyrants receive from the Almighty.:
27:16 Though he piles up silver like dust, And prepares garments as plentiful as the clay,
27:17 He may prepare it, but the justrighteous will wear it And the innocent will divide the silver.
27:18 He has built his house like the spider’s web, Or as a hut which the watchman has made.
27:19 He lies down rich, but never again; He opens his eyes, and it is no longer exists.
27:20 Terrors overtake him like a flood; A tempeststorm steals him away in the night.
27:21 The east wind carries him away, and he is gone,; For it whirlssweeps him away from his place.
27:22 For it will hurl at him without sparingmercy; He will surelycertainly try to flee from its power.
27:23 MenPeople will clap their hands at him, And will hisswhistle at him from histheir placeplaces.
28:1 SurelyCertainly there is a mine for silver And a place wherefor theyrefining refine gold.
28:4 He sinks a shaft faraway from habitationinhabited areas, Forgotten by the foot; They hang and swing, toaway and fro far from menpeople.
28:5 The earth,From fromthe itearth comes food, And underneath, it is turned upover aslike fire.
28:7 TheNo path no bird of prey knows the path, Nor has the falcon’s eye caught sight of it.
28:8 The proud beastsanimals have not trodden it, Nor has the fierce lion passed over it.
28:10 He hewscarves out channels through the rocks, And his eye sees anything precious.
28:11 He dams up the streams from flowing, And brings to light what is hidden he brings out to the light.
28:13 ManMankind does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land of the living.
28:14 The deepocean depth says, ‘It is not in me’; And the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’
28:17 Gold or glass cannot equal it, Nor can it be exchanged for articles of finepure gold.
28:18 Coral and crystal are not to be mentioned; And the acquisition of wisdom is abovemore thatvaluable ofthan pearls.
28:19 The topaz of EthiopiaCush cannot equal it, Nor can it be valued in pure gold.
28:20 Where then does wisdom come from? And where is thethis place of understanding?
28:21 ThusIt it is hidden from the eyes of allevery living creature, And concealed from the birds of the sky.
28:24 For He looks to the ends of the earth; AndHe sees everything under the heavens.
28:25 When He imparted weight to the wind, And metedassessed out the waters by measure,
28:26 When He setmade a limit for the rain, And a course for the thunderbolt,
28:28 And to manmankind He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to departturn away from evil is understanding.’ ”
29:1 And Job again took up his discourse and said,
29:4 AsJust as I was in the primedays of my daysyouth, When the friendshipprotection of God was over my tent;
29:5 When the Almighty was yetstill with me, And my children were around me;
29:6 When my steps were bathed in buttercream, And the rock poured out for me streams of oil for me!
29:7 When I went out to the gate of the city, When I took my seat in the public square,
29:9 The princesleaders stopped talking And put their hands on their mouths;
29:10 The voicevoices of the noblesprominent waspeople were hushed, And their tonguetongues stuck to their palatepalates.
29:11 For when thean ear heard, it called me blessed, And when thean eye saw, it gavetestified witnessin support of me,
29:12 Because I deliveredsaved the poor who cried for help, And the orphan who had no helper.
29:13 The blessing of the one readywho was about to perish came upon me, And I made the widow’s heart sing for joy.
29:14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My justice was like a robe and a turbanheadband.
29:15 I was eyes to thethose who were blind, And feet to thethose lamewho could not walk.
29:16 I was a father to the needypoor, And I investigated the case which I did not know.
29:17 I broke the jaws of the wicked And snatchedrescued the prey from his teeth.
29:18 Then I thought, ‘I shallwill die inwith my nestfamily, And I shallwill multiply my days as the sand.
29:19 My root is spread out to the waters, And dew lies all night on my branch all night.
29:21 “To me they listened and waited, And they kept silent for my counseladvice.
29:23 They waited for me as for the rain, And opened their mouthmouths as for the springlate rain.
29:24 I smiled onat them when they did not believe, And thethey lightdid ofnot mylook faceat theymy didkindness not cast downungraciously.
29:25 I chose a way for them and sat as chief, And dweltlived as a king among the troops, As one who comforted the mourners.
30:1 “But now those who are younger than I mock me, Whose fathers I disdainedrefused to put with the dogs of my flock.
30:3 From wantpoverty and famine they are gaunt, WhoThey who gnaw at the dry ground by night in waste and desolation,
30:4 Who pluck mallowsaltweed by the bushes, And whose food is the root of the broom shrub.
30:6 So that they dwelllive inon dreadfulthe valleysslopes of ravines, In holes ofin the earthground and ofamong the rocks.
30:7 Among the bushes they cry out; Under the nettlesweeds they are gathered together.
30:8 FoolsWorthless fellows, even those without a name, They were scourgedcast out from the land.
30:9 “And now I have become their taunt, And I have even become a byword to them.
30:10 They abhorloathe me and stand aloof from me, And they do not refrain from spitting atin my face.
30:11 Because He has loosedundone Hismy bowstring and afflicted me, They have cast off the bridle before me.
30:12 On the right hand their broodmob arises; They thrustpush aside my feet and buildpile up against me their ways of destruction against me.
30:13 They break up my path, They profitpromote from my destruction; No one restrains them.
30:14 As through a wide breachgap they come, Amid the tempeststorm they roll on.
30:15 TerrorsSudden terrors are turned againstupon me; They pursuechase away my honordignity aslike the wind, And my prosperity has passed away like a cloud.
30:16 “And now my soul is poured out within me; Days of afflictionmisery have seized me.
30:17 At night it pierces my bones within me, And my gnawing pains takedo nonot rest.
30:18 By a great force my garment is distorted; It bindsties me aboutup aslike the collar of my coat.
30:19 He has castthrown me into the mire, And I have become like dust and ashes.
30:21 You have become cruel to me; With the mightstrength of Your hand You persecute me.
30:22 You lift me up to the wind and causemake me toride rideit; And You dissolve me in a storm.
30:23 For I know that You will bring me to death, And to the house of meeting for all living.
30:24 “Yet does not one in a heap of ruins stretchnot reach out with his hand, Or in his disaster thereforedoes he not cry out for help?
30:25 Have I not wept for the one whose life is hard? Was not my soul not grieved for the needy?
30:26 When I expected good, then evil came; When I waited for light, then darkness came.
30:27 I am seething within and cannot relaxrest; Days of afflictionmisery confront me.
30:29 I have become a brother to jackals, And a companion of ostriches.
31:1 “I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I gazelook at a virgin?
31:2 And what is the portion of God from above, Or the heritageinheritance of the Almighty from on high?
31:3 Is it not calamitydisaster to the unjustcriminal, And disastermisfortune to those who workpractice iniquityinjustice?
31:4 Does He not see my ways, And numbercount all my steps?
31:5 “If I have walked with falsehooddeception, And my foot has hastenedhurried after deceit,
31:10 May my wife grind grain for another, And let others kneel down over her.
31:11 For that would be a lustful crime; Moreover, it would be anwrongdoing iniquity punishable by judges.
31:13 “If I have despisedrejected the claim of my male or female slaves When they filed a complaint against me,
31:14 What then could I do when God arises? And when He calls me to account, whathow willam I to answer Him?
31:15 Did not He who made me in the womb not make him, And the same one fashioncreate us in the womb?
31:18 (But from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, And from my infancy I guided her),
31:20 If his loinswaist havehas not thanked me, And if he has not been warmed with the fleece of my sheep,
31:22 LetMay my shoulder fall from theits socket, And my arm be broken off at the elbow.
31:23 For calamitydisaster from God is a terror to me, And because of His majesty I can do nothing.
31:25 If I have gloated because my wealth was great, And because my hand had securedobtained so much;
31:26 If I have looked at the sun when it shone, Or the moon going in splendor,
31:27 And my heart becamewas secretly enticed, And my hand threw a kiss from my mouth,
31:28 That too would have been ana iniquityguilty deed calling for judgment, For I would have denied God above.
31:29 “Have I rejoiced at the extinctionmisfortune of my enemy, Or exultedbecome excited when evil befellfound him?
31:30 No, I have not allowed my mouth to sin By asking for his life in a curse.
31:31 Have the menpeople of my tent not said, ‘Who can find one who has not been satisfied with his meat’?
31:32 The alienstranger has not lodgedspent the night outside, For I have opened my doors to the traveler.
31:33 Have I covered my transgressionswrongdoings like Adama man, By hiding my iniquityguilt in my bosomshirt pocket,
31:34 Because I feared the great multitude, And the contempt of families terrified me, And I kept silent and did not go out of doors?
31:35 Oh that I had one to hear me! Behold,Here here is my signature; Let the Almighty answer me! And the indictment which my adversary has written,
31:36 Surely I would certainly carry it on my shoulder, I would bindtie it to myself like a crowngarland.
31:37 I would declare to Him the number of my steps; Like a prince, I would approach Him.
31:40 LetMay briarsthe thorn-bush grow instead of wheat, And stinkweed instead of barley.” The words of Job are ended.
32:1 Then these three men ceasedstopped answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
32:2 But the anger of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, burned; against Job; his anger burned because he justified himself before God.
32:3 And his anger burned against his three friends because they had found no answer, and yet they had condemned Job.
32:5 AndBut when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three men, his anger burned.
32:8 But it is a spirit that is in manmankind, And the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.
32:11 “Behold, I waited for your words, I listened to your reasoningsskillful speech, While you pondered what to say.
32:12 I evenalso paid close attention to you; IndeedBut indeed, there was no one who refuted Job, Not one of you who answered his words.
32:13 DoSo do not say, ‘We have found wisdom;: God will routdefeat him, not man.’
32:14 ForBut he has not arrangedpresented his words against me, Nor will I reply to him with your arguments.
32:16 ShallShould I wait, because they doare not speakspeaking, Because they stophave stopped and no longer answer?
32:17 I too will answergive my share, of answers; I also will tell my opinion.
32:18 For I am full of words; The spirit within me constrainscompels me.
32:19 Behold, my belly is like unvented wine,; Like new wineskins, it is about to burst.
32:20 Let me speak so that I may get relief; Let me open my lips and answer.
32:21 Let me now be partial to no one, Nor flatter any man.
32:22 For I do not know how to flatter, ElseOtherwise my Maker would soonquickly take me away.
33:1 “However now, Job, please hear my speech, Job, And listen to all my words.
33:3 My words are from the uprightnessintegrity of my heart, And my lips speak knowledge sincerely.
33:5 Refute me if you can; ArrayLine yourselvesup beforeagainst me, take your stand.
33:6 Behold, I belong to God, like you; I too have been formed out of the clay.
33:8 SurelyYou you have in fact spoken inwhile myI hearinglistened, And I have heard the sound of your words:
33:9 ‘I am pure, without transgressionwrongdoing; I am innocent and there is no guilt in me.
33:10 Behold, He invents pretextscriticisms against me; He counts me as His enemy.
33:12 Behold, let me tellrespond to you, you are not right in this, For God is greater than manmankind.
33:13 “Why do you complain againstto Him That He does not give an account of all His doings?
33:15 In a dream, a vision of the night, When sounddeep sleep falls on menpeople, While they slumber in their beds,
33:16 Then He opens the ears of menpeople, And sealshorrifies theirthem instructionwith warnings,
33:17 ThatSo that He may turn mana asideperson away from hisbad conduct, And keep a man from pride;
33:18 He keeps back his soul back from the pit, And his life from passingperishing overby intothe Sheolspear.
33:19 ManA person is also chastenedrebuked withby pain onin his bed, And with unceasingconstant complaint in his bones;,
33:20 So that his life loathes bread, And his soul, favoritefood foodthat he should crave.
33:21 His flesh wastes away from sight, And his bones, which were not seen, stick out.
33:22 Then his soul drawscomes near to the pit, And his life to those who bring death.
33:23 “If there is an interceding angel as mediator for him, One out of a thousand, To remind a manperson of what is right for him,
33:24 ThenAnd lethe himis be gracious to him, and saysays, ‘DeliverFree him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom’;
33:26 Then he will pray to God, and He will accept him, ThatSo that he may see His face with joy, And He maywill restore His righteousness to manthat person.
33:27 He will sing to menpeople and say, ‘I have sinned and perverted what is right, And it is not proper for me.
33:28 He has redeemed my soul from going to the pit, And my life shallwill see the light.’
33:29 “Behold, God does all these oftentimesthings withfor mena man two or three times,
33:30 To bring back his soul from the pit, ThatSo that he may be enlightened with the light of life.
33:31 Pay attention, O Job, listen to me; Keep silent, and let me speak.
33:32 Then if you have anything to say, answer me; Speak, for I desirewould totake justifypleasure in justifying you.
34:2 “Hear my words, you wise men, And listen to me, you who knowunderstand.
34:4 Let us choose for ourselves what is right; Let us knowunderstand among ourselves what is good.
34:6 Should I lie concerningabout my right? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgressionwrongdoing.’
34:8 Who goes in company with the workers of iniquityinjustice, And walks with wicked menpeople?
34:9 For he has said, ‘It profitsis of no use to a man nothing When he isbecomes pleasedfriends with God.’
34:10 “Therefore, listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wickednessevil, And from the Almighty to do wrong.
34:11 For He paysrepays a manperson accordingfor to his work, And makeslets himthings findhappen itin accordingcorrespondence to hisa wayman’s behavior.
34:12 Surely, God certainly will not act wickedly, And the Almighty will not pervert justice.
34:13 Who gave Him authority over the earth? And who has laidplaced on Him the whole world on Him?
34:14 If He shouldwere to determine to do so, If He shouldwere gather to Himselfgather His spirit and His breath to Himself,
34:15 All fleshHumanity would perish together, And manmankind would return to dust.
34:18 Who says to a king, ‘WorthlessYou worthless one,’ To nobles, ‘WickedYou oneswicked one’;
34:19 Who shows no partiality to princesthe prominent, Nor regards the rich as above the poor, ForSince they are all are the work of His hands?
34:20 In a moment they die, and at midnight People are shaken and pass away, And the mightypowerful are taken away without a hand.
34:21 “For His eyes are upon the ways of a manperson, And He sees all his steps.
34:22 There is no darkness or deep shadow Where the workers of iniquityinjustice maycan hide themselves.
34:23 For He does not need to consider a manperson further, That he should go before God in judgment.
34:24 He breaks in pieces the mighty men without inquiryinvestigation, And sets others in their place.
34:25 Therefore He knows their worksdeeds, And He overthrows them in the night, And they are crushed.
34:27 Because they turned aside from following Him, And had no regard for any of His ways;,
34:28 So that they caused the cry of the poor to come to Him, And that He mightwould hear the cry of the afflicted—
34:29 When He keeps quiet, who then can condemn? And when He hides His face, who then can beholdlook at Him, That is, inregarding regard to both nation and mana person?—
34:30 So that godless menpeople would not rule, Nor be snares offor the people.
34:31 “For has anyone said to God, ‘I have borneendured chastisementpunishment; I will not offend anymore;
34:32 Teach me what I do not see; If I have done iniquitywrong, I will not do it again’?
34:33 Shall HeGod recompenserepay on your terms, because you have rejected itHis? For you must choose, and not I; Therefore declare what you know.
34:36 JobOh oughtthat toJob bewere triedtested to the limit, Because he answers like wicked mensinners.
35:2 “Do you think this is accordingin toaccordance with justice? Do you say, ‘My righteousness is more than God’s’?
35:3 For you say, ‘What advantage will it be to You? What profitbenefit will I have, more than if I had sinned?’
35:5 Look at the heavens and see; And beholdlook at the clouds—they are higher than you.
35:6 If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against Him? And if your transgressionswrongdoings are many, what do you do to Him?
35:11 Who teaches us more than the beastsanimals of the earth And makes us wiser than the birds of the heavenssky?’
35:12 There they cry out, but He does not answer Because of the pride of evil menpeople.
35:13 Surely God certainly will not listen to an empty cry, Nor will the Almighty regard it.
35:14 How much less when you say you do not beholdlook at Him, The case is before Him, and you must wait for Him!
35:15 And now, because He has not visitedavenged in His anger, Nor has He acknowledged transgressionwrongdoing well,
35:16 So Job opens his mouth emptilywith empty words; He multiplies words without knowledge.”
36:2 “Wait for me a little, and I will show you That there is yetstill more to be said inon God’s behalf.
36:3 I will fetchbring my knowledge from afar, And I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
36:5 Behold, God is mighty but does not despisereject anyanyone; He is mighty in strength of understanding.
36:7 He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous;, But with kings on the throne He has seated them forever, and they are exalted.
36:8 And if they are bound in fettersshackles, And are caught in the cordssnares of afflictionmisery,
36:9 Then He declares to them their work And their transgressionswrongdoings, that they have magnifiedbeen themselvesarrogant.
36:10 He opens their earears to instruction, And commands that they return from evilinjustice.
36:11 If they hearlisten and serve Him, They will end their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasureshappiness.
36:12 But if they do not hearlisten, they shallwill perish by the sword, And they will die without knowledge.
36:13 But the godless in heart laynurture up anger; They do not crycall for help when He binds them.
36:14 They die in youth, And their life perishes among the cult prostitutes.
36:15 He deliversrescues the afflicted in their afflictionmisery, And opens their earears in time of oppression.
36:16 Then indeed, He enticedinduced you away from the mouth of distress, InsteadAnd instead of it, a broad place with no constraint; And that which was set on your table was full of fatnessrich food.
36:18 Beware that wrath does not entice you to scoffingmockery; And do not let the greatness of the ransom turn you aside.
36:19 Will your richescry for help keep you from distress, Or all the forcesexertions of your strength?
36:20 Do not long for the night, When people vanish in their placeplaces.
36:21 Be careful, do not turn to evil, For you have preferred this to afflictionmisery.
36:24 “Remember that you shouldare to exalt His work, Of which menpeople have sung.
36:25 All menpeople have seen it; ManMankind beholdslooks at it from afar.
36:27 For He draws up the drops of water,; They distill rain from theits mistcelestial stream,
36:28 Which the clouds pour down,; They drip upon manmankind abundantly.
36:31 For by thesethem He judges peoples; He gives food in abundance.
36:32 He covers His hands with the lightning, And commands it to strike the marktarget.
36:33 Its noisethundering voice declares His presence; The cattlelivestock also, concerning what is coming up.
37:3 Under the whole heaven He lets it loose, And His lightning travels to the ends of the earth.
37:4 After it, a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain the lightningslightning when His voice is heard.
37:5 God thunders wondrously with His voice wondrously, Doing great things which we cannotdo not comprehend.
37:7 He seals the hand of every manperson, ThatSo that all menpeople may know His work.
37:8 Then the beastanimal goes into its lair And remains in its den.
37:9 OutFrom of the south comes the storm, And outfrom of the north wind the cold.
37:11 AlsoHe withalso moisture He loads the thickclouds cloudwith moisture; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.
37:13 Whether for correction, or for His worldearth, Or for lovingkindnessgoodness, He causes it to happen.
37:14 “Listen to this, O Job,; Stand and consider the wonders of God.
37:15 Do you know how God establishes them, And makes the lightning of His cloudclouds to shine?
37:16 Do you know about the layershovering of the thick clouds, The wonders of oneOne who is perfect in knowledge,
37:17 You whose garments are hot, When the land is still because of the south wind?
37:18 Can you, with Him, spread out the skies, Strong as a moltencast metal mirror?
37:19 Teach us what we shallare to say to Him; We cannot arrangepresent our case because of darkness.
37:21 “Now menpeople do not see the light which is bright in the skies; But the wind has passed and cleared them.
37:22 OutFrom of the north comes golden splendor; Around God is awesome majesty.
37:23 The Almighty—we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not doviolate violence to justice and abundant righteousness.
37:24 Therefore menpeople fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise of heart.”
38:1 Then the Lord answered Job outfrom of the whirlwind and said,
38:2 “Who is this thatwho darkens counselthe divine plan By words without knowledge?
38:3 Now girdtighten upthe belt on your loinswaist like a man, And I willshall ask you, and you instructinform Me!
38:5 Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the measuring line onover it?
38:8 “Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb, bursting forth;
38:9 When I made a cloud its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling bandbands,
38:11 And I said, ‘ThusAs far as this point you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves shall stop’?
38:12 “Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And causedmade the dawn to know its place,
38:13 ThatSo that it mightwould take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked would be shaken outoff offrom it?
38:14 It is changed like clay under the seal; And they stand forthout like a garment.
38:15 FromTheir thelight wickedis theirwithheld lightfrom isthe withheldwicked, And the uplifted arm is broken.
38:16 “Have you entered into the springs of the sea, OrAnd walked in the recessesdepth of the deepocean?
38:17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you, OrAnd have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
38:20 That you maywould take it to its territory, And that you may discern the paths to its home?
38:22 Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, OrAnd have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
38:23 Which I have reserved for thea time of distress, For thea day of war and battle?
38:24 Where is the way that the light is divided, OrAnd the east wind scattered on the earth?
38:25 “Who has cleftsplit open a channel for the flood, OrAnd a way for the thunderbolt,
38:26 To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a manperson in it,
38:27 To satisfy the waste and desolate land, And to make the seeds of grass to sprout?
38:28 HasDoes the rain have a father? Or who has begottenfathered the drops of dew?
38:31 “Can you bindtie up the chains of the Pleiades, Or looseuntie the cords of Orion?
38:32 Can you leadbring forthout a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites?
38:33 Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or fixdo you establish their rule over the earth?
38:34 “Can you liftraise up your voice to the clouds, So that an abundance of water will cover you?
38:35 Can you send forthflashes lightningsof lightning, so that they may go And say to you, ‘Here we are’?
38:36 Who has put wisdom in the innermost being, Or given understanding to the mind?
38:37 Who can count the clouds by wisdom, OrAnd tippour out the water jars of the heavens,
38:39 “Can you hunt the prey for the lionlioness, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
38:40 When they crouch in their denshiding places, And lie in wait in their lair?
38:41 Who prepares feed for the raven its nourishment When its young cry to God, And wander about without food?
39:3 They kneel down, they bringdeliver forth their young, They get rid of their labor pains.
39:5 “Who sent out the wild donkey out free? And who loosedopened the bonds of the swift donkey,
39:6 To whom I gave the wilderness foras ahis home, And the salt land foras his dwelling place?
39:7 He scornslaughs at the tumultturmoil of the city, TheHe shoutingsdoes ofnot hear the drivershouting heof doesthe not heartaskmaster.
39:8 He explores the mountains forof his pasture, And searches after every green thing.
39:9 Will the wild oxbull consentbe willing to serve you, Or will he spend the night at your mangerfeeding trough?
39:10 Can you bindtie down the wild oxbull in a furrow with ropes, Or will he harrowplow the valleys after you?
39:11 Will you trust him because his strength is great, And leave your labor to him?
39:13 “The ostriches’ wings of the ostrich flap joyously, With the pinion and plumagefeathers of love,
39:15 And she forgets that a foot may crush them, Or that a wild beastanimal may trample them.
39:16 She treats her young cruelly, as if they were not hers; Though her labor beis infor vainnothing, she is unconcerned;,
39:18 When she liftsrushes herselfaway on high, She laughs at the horse and his rider.
39:20 Do you make him leap like the locustlocusts? His majestic snorting is terriblefrightening.

40:2 “Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Let him who reprovesrebukes God give an answer it.”
40:4 “Behold, I am insignificant; what can I replysay in response to You? I layput my hand on my mouth.
40:5 Once I have spoken once, and I will not answerreply; EvenOr twice, and I will add nothing more.”
40:6 Then the Lord answered Job outfrom of the stormwhirlwind and said,
40:7 “Now girdtighten upthe belt on your loinswaist like a man; I will ask you, and you instruct Me.
40:8 Will you really annulnullify My judgment? Will you condemn Me so that you may be justified?
40:10 “Adorn yourself with eminencepride and dignity, And clothe yourself with honor and majesty.
40:11 PourLet out theyour overflowingsoutbursts of your anger, And look onat everyone who is proudarrogant, and makehumble him low.
40:12 Look onat everyone who is proudarrogant, and humble him, And treadtrample down the wicked where they stand.

40:15 “Behold now, Behemoth, which I made as well as you; He eats grass like an ox.
40:16 Behold now, his strength in his loinswaist, And his power in the muscles of his belly.
40:17 He bendshangs his tail like a cedar; The sinewstendons of his thighs are knit together.
40:19 “He is the first of the ways of God; Let his makerMaker bring nearHis hissword swordnear.

41:1 “Can you drawdrag out Leviathan with a fishhook?, OrAnd press down his tongue with a cordrope?
41:2 Can you put a rope in his nose, OrAnd pierce his jaw with a hook?
41:3 Will he make many supplicationspleas to you, Or will he speak to you softgentle words?
41:4 Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him foras a servant forever?
41:5 Will you play with him as with a bird, OrAnd willtie youhim binddown him for your maidensyoung girls?
41:6 Will the traders bargain overfor him? Will they divide him among the merchants?
41:8 Lay your hand on him;. Remember the battle; you will not do it again!
41:9 Behold, your expectation is false; Will you be laidhurled lowdown even at the sight of him?
41:10 No one is so fiercereckless that he dares to arousestir him; Who then is he thatwho canopposes stand before Me?
41:11 Who has givenbeen first to give to Me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the wholeentire heaven is Mine.
41:12 “I will not keepbe silencesilent concerningabout his limbs, Or his mighty strength, or his orderlygraceful frame.
41:13 Who can strip off his outer armorcovering? Who can comepierce within his double mailarmor?
41:15 His strong scales are his pride, ShutLocked up as with a tight seal.
41:16 One is so nearclose to another That no air can come between them.
41:18 His sneezes flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eyelidseye of the morningdawn.
41:19 OutFrom of his mouth go burning torches; Sparks of fire leap forth.
41:20 OutFrom of his nostrils smoke goes forthout As from a boiling pot and burning rushesreeds.
41:21 His breath kindlessets coals aglow, And a flame goes forth from his mouth.
41:22 In his neck lodgesdwells strength, And dismay leaps before him.
41:23 The folds of his flesh are joined together, Firm and immovable on him and immovable.
41:24 His heart is as hardfirm as a stone, EvenAnd as hardfirm as a lower millstone.
41:25 When he raisesrises himself up, the mighty fearare afraid; Because of the crashing they are bewildered.
41:26 The sword that reaches him cannot availprevail, Nor the spear, the dart, or the javelin.
41:30 His underparts are like sharp potsherdspieces of pottery; He spreads out like a threshing sledge on the miremud.
41:32 Behind him he makesilluminates a wake to shinepathway; One would think the deep to be gray-haired.
41:34 He looks on everything that is high; He is king over all the sons of pride.”
42:2 “I know that You can do all things, And that no purposeplan ofis Yoursimpossible canfor be thwartedYou.
42:3 ‘Who is this thatwho hidesconceals counseladvice without knowledge?’ Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I diddo not know.
42:4 Hear,Please nowlisten, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me.’
42:6 Therefore I retract, And I repent, insitting on dust and ashes.”
42:7 It came about after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, because you have not spoken of Me what is righttrustworthy, as My servant Job has.
42:8 Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves, and My servant Job will pray for you. For I will accept him so thatas Inot mayto not do with you accordingas to your follyfoolishness deserves, because you have not spoken of Me what is righttrustworthy, as My servant Job has.”
42:9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord told them; and the Lord accepted Job.
42:10 The Lord also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased double all that Job had twofold.
42:11 Then all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all who had known him before came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they consoledsympathized with him and comforted him for all the adversities that the Lord had brought on him. And each one gave him onea piece of money, and each a ring of gold.
42:12 The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had 14,000fourteen thousand sheep, andsix 6,000thousand camels, anda 1,000thousand yoke of oxen, and 1,000a thousand female donkeys.
42:13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.
42:14 He named the first Jemimah, and the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.
42:15 In all the land no women were found soas fairbeautiful as Job’s daughters; and their father gave them inheritanceinheritances among their brothers.
