The Two Witnesses

Then I was givenmch. 21:15, 16; Ezek. 40:3; Zech. 2:1 a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, “Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, but do not measurenEzek. 40:17, 20 the court outside the temple; leave that out, foroSee Luke 21:24 it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city forpch. 12:6; 13:5 forty-two months. And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy forp[See ver. 2 above] 1,260 days,qIsa. 20:2 clothed in sackcloth. ”

These arerZech. 4:3, 11, 14; [Ps. 52:8; Jer. 11:16] the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. And if anyone would harm them,s[2 Kgs. 1:10, 12; Jer. 5:14] fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes. If anyone would harm them,t[Num. 16:29, 35] this is how he is doomed to be killed. They have the poweru[1 Kgs. 17:1; Luke 4:25; James 5:17] to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood andv[Ex. 7–10; 1 Sam. 4:8] to strike the earth with every kind of plague, as often as they desire. The Seventh Trumpet

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,

for you have taken your great power

18 The nations raged,

and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints,
andzch. 19:5 those who fear your name,
both small and great,
