1 And the whole congregationof the childrenof Israelassembled togetherat Shiloh, and set upthe tabernacleof the congregationthere. And the landwas subduedbefore them.2 And there remainedamong the childrenof Israelseventribes, which had not yet receivedtheir inheritance.3 And Joshuasaidunto the childrenof Israel, How long areye slackto goto possessthe land, which the LordGodof your fathershath given you?4 Give outfrom among you threemen for eachtribe: and I will sendthem, and they shall rise, and gothrough the land, and describeit accordingto the inheritanceof them; and they shall comeagain to me.5 And they shall divideit into sevenparts: Judahshall abidein their coaston the south, and the houseof Josephshall abidein their coastson the north.6 Ye shall therefore describethe landintosevenparts, and bringthe descriptionhither to me, that I may castlotsfor you here beforethe Lordour God.7 But the Leviteshave no partamongyou; for the priesthoodof the Lordistheir inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and halfthe tribeof Manasseh, have receivedtheir inheritancebeyondJordanon the east, which Mosesthe servantof the Lordgave them.
8 And the menarose, and went away: and Joshuachargedthem that wentto describethe land, saying, Goand walkthrough the land, and describeit, and come againto me, that I may here castlotsfor you beforethe Lordin Shiloh.9 And the menwentand passed throughthe land, and describedit by citiesinto sevenpartsin a book, and cameagainto Joshuato the hostat Shiloh.
10 And Joshuacastlotsfor them in Shilohbeforethe Lord: and there Joshuadividedthe landunto the childrenof Israelaccording to their divisions.
11 And the lotof the tribeof the childrenof Benjamincame upaccording to their families: and the coastof their lotcame forthbetween the childrenof Judahand the childrenof Joseph.12 And their borderon the northsidewas from Jordan; and the borderwent upto the sideof Jerichoon the northside, and went upthrough the mountainswestward; and the goings outthereof were at the wildernessof Beth–aven.13 And the borderwent overfrom thence toward Luz, to the sideof Luz, which isBeth–el, southward; and the borderdescendedto Ataroth–adar, near the hill that liethon the south sideof the netherBeth–horon.14 And the borderwas drawnthence, and compassedthe cornerof the seasouthward, from the hill that liethbeforeBeth–horonsouthward; and the goings outthereof were at Kirjath–baal, which isKirjath–jearim, a cityof the childrenof Judah: this wasthe westquarter.15 And the southquarterwasfrom the endof Kirjath–jearim, and the borderwent outon the west, and went outto the wellof watersof Nephtoah:16 And the bordercame downto the endof the mountain that liethbeforethe valleyof the sonof Hinnom, and which isin the valleyof the giantson the north, and descendedto the valleyof Hinnom, to the sideof Jebusion the south, and descendedto En–rogel,17 And was drawnfrom the north, and went forthto En–shemesh, and went forthtoward Geliloth, which isover againstthe going upof Adummim, and descendedto the stoneof Bohanthe sonof Reuben,18 And passed alongtoward the sideover againstArabahnorthward, and went downunto Arabah:nArabah: or, the plain19 And the borderpassed alongto the sideof Beth–hoglahnorthward: and the outgoingsof the borderwere at the northbayof the saltseaat the southendof Jordan: this wasthe southcoast.nbay: Heb. tongue20 And Jordanwas the borderof it on the eastside. This wasthe inheritanceof the childrenof Benjamin, by the coaststhereof round about, according to their families.21 Now the citiesof the tribeof the childrenof Benjaminaccording to their familieswere Jericho, and Beth–hoglah, and the valleyof Keziz,22 And Beth–arabah, and Zemaraim, and Beth–el,23 And Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,24 And Chephar–haammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelvecitieswith their villages:25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,26 And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,27 And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,28 And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which isJerusalem, Gibeath, andKirjath; fourteencitieswith their villages. This isthe inheritanceof the childrenof Benjaminaccording to their families.
