1 In the beginningof the reignof Jehoiakimthe sonof Josiahkingof Judahcame this wordfrom the Lord, saying,2 Thus saiththe Lord; Standin the courtof the Lord'shouse, and speakunto all the citiesof Judah, which cometo worshipin the Lord'shouse, all the wordsthat I commandthee to speakunto them; diminishnot a word:3 If so be they will hearken, and turnevery manfrom his evilway, that I may repentme of the evil, which I purposeto dounto them becauseof the evilof their doings.4 And thou shalt sayunto them, Thus saiththe Lord; If ye will not hearkento me, to walkin my law, which I have setbefore you,5 To hearkento the wordsof my servantsthe prophets, whom I sentunto you, both rising up early, and sendingthem, but ye have not hearkened;6 Then will I makethis houselike Shiloh, and will makethis citya curseto all the nationsof the earth.7 So the priestsand the prophetsand all the peopleheardJeremiahspeakingthese wordsin the houseof the Lord.
8 Now it came to pass, when Jeremiahhad made an endof speakingall that the Lordhad commandedhimto speakunto all the people, that the priestsand the prophetsand all the peopletookhim, saying, Thou shalt surelydie.9 Why hast thou prophesiedin the nameof the Lord, saying, This houseshall be like Shiloh, and this cityshall be desolatewithout an inhabitant? And all the peoplewere gatheredagainst Jeremiahin the houseof the Lord.

16 Then saidthe princesand all the peopleunto the priestsand to the prophets; This manisnot worthyto die: for he hath spokento us in the nameof the Lordour God.17 Then rose upcertainof the eldersof the land, and spaketo all the assemblyof the people, saying,18 Micahthe Morasthiteprophesiedin the daysof Hezekiahkingof Judah, and spaketo all the peopleof Judah, saying, Thus saiththe Lordof hosts; Zionshall be plowedlikea field, and Jerusalemshall become heaps, and the mountainof the houseas the high placesof a forest.19 Did Hezekiahkingof Judahand all Judahput him at allto death? did he not fearthe Lord, and besoughtthe Lord, and the Lordrepentedhim of the evilwhich he had pronouncedagainst them?
