1 And he saidunto me, Sonof man, standupon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.2 And the spiritenteredinto me when he spakeunto me, and setme upon my feet, that I heardhim that spake unto me.3 And he saidunto me, Sonof man, I sendthee to the childrenof Israel, to a rebelliousnationthat hath rebelledagainst me: they and their fathershave transgressed against me, evenunto this veryday.nnation: Heb. nations4 For they areimpudentchildrenand stiffhearted. I do sendthee unto them; and thou shalt sayunto them, Thus saiththe LordGod.nimpudent: Heb. hard of face5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they area rebellioushouse,) yet shall knowthat there hath been a prophetamong them.
6 And thou, sonof man, be not afraidof them, neither be afraidof their words, though briersand thornsbewith thee, and thou dost dwellamong scorpions: be not afraidof their words, nor be dismayedat their looks, though they bea rebellioushouse.nbriers…: or, rebels7 And thou shalt speakmy wordsunto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they aremost rebellious.nmost…: Heb. rebellion8 But thou, sonof man, hearwhat I sayunto thee; Be notthou rebelliouslike that rebellioushouse: openthy mouth, and eatthat I give thee.
9 And when I looked, behold, an handwassentunto me; and, lo, a rollof a bookwas therein;10 And he spreadit before me; and it waswrittenwithinand without: and there waswrittentherein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.
