1 Ye arethe childrenof the Lordyour God: ye shall not cutyourselves, nor makeany baldnessbetween your eyesfor the dead.2 For thou artan holypeopleunto the Lordthy God, and the Lordhath chosenthee to be a peculiarpeopleunto himself, above all the nations that areuponthe earth.
3 Thou shalt not eatany abominable thing.4 These arethe beastswhich ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,5 The hart, and the roebuck, and the fallow deer, and the wild goat, and the pygarg, and the wild ox, and the chamois.npygarg: or bison: Heb. dishon6 And every beastthat parteththe hoof, and cleaveththe cleftinto twoclaws, andcheweththe cudamong the beasts, that ye shall eat.7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eatof them that chewthe cud, or of them that dividethe clovenhoof; asthe camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chewthe cud, but dividenot the hoof; therefore they areunclean unto you.8 And the swine, because it divideththe hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it isuncleanunto you: ye shall not eatof their flesh, nor touchtheir dead carcase.
9 These ye shall eat of all that arein the waters: all that have finsand scalesshall ye eat:10 And whatsoever hath not finsand scalesye may not eat; it isunclean unto you.
11 Ofall cleanbirdsye shall eat.12 But these are theyof which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,13 And the glede, and the kite, and the vultureafter his kind,14 And every ravenafter his kind,15 And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawkafter his kind,16 The little owl, and the great owl, and the swan,17 And the pelican, and the gier eagle, and the cormorant,18 And the stork, and the heronafter her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.19 And every creeping thingthat fliethisuncleanunto you: they shall not be eaten.20 But ofall cleanfowlsye may eat.
21 Ye shall not eatofany thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt giveit unto the stranger that isin thy gates, that he may eatit; or thou mayest sellit unto an alien: for thou artan holypeopleunto the Lordthy God. Thou shalt not seethea kidin his mother'smilk.22 Thou shalt trulytitheall the increaseof thy seed, that the fieldbringeth forthyearby year.23 And thou shalt eatbeforethe Lordthy God, in the placewhich he shall chooseto placehis namethere, the titheof thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlingsof thy herdsand of thy flocks; that thou mayest learnto fearthe Lordthy Godalways.24 And if the waybe too longfor thee, so thatthou art not ableto carry it; orif the placebe too farfrom thee, which the Lordthy Godshall chooseto sethis namethere, when the Lordthy Godhath blessed thee:25 Then shalt thou turnitinto money, and bind upthe moneyin thine hand, and shalt gounto the placewhich the Lordthy Godshall choose:26 And thou shalt bestowthat moneyfor whatsoever thy soullusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy souldesireth: and thou shalt eatthere beforethe Lordthy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,ndesireth: Heb. asketh of thee27 And the Levite that iswithin thy gates; thou shalt not forsakehim; for he hath no partnor inheritance with thee.
28 At the endof threeyearsthou shalt bring forthall the titheof thine increasethe same year, and shalt lay itupwithin thy gates:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no partnor inheritancewith thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which arewithin thy gates, shall come, and shall eatand be satisfied; that the Lordthy Godmay blessthee in all the workof thine handwhich thou doest.
