The word of the Lord that came to Micaha[ver. 14] of MoreshethbIsa. 1:1 in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he sawcAmos 1:1 concerningdIsa. 7:9; Jer. 23:13 Samaria and Jerusalem.

fSee Isa. 1:2 pay attention, O earth, and all that is in it,
andgMal. 3:5 let the Lord God be a witness against you,

For behold,iIsa. 26:21 the Lord is coming out ofjPs. 115:3 his place,
and will come down andkAmos 4:13; [Deut. 32:13] tread upon the high places of the earth.

AndlPs. 97:5; [Judg. 5:5; Amos 9:5, 13; Nah. 1:5] the mountains will melt under him,
and the valleys will split open,
like wax before the fire,
like waters poured down a steep place.

All this is formSee ch. 3:8 the transgression of Jacob
and for the sins of the house of Israel.

a place for planting vineyards,
and I will pour down her stonesq[1 Kgs. 16:24] into the valley
andrEzek. 13:14 uncover her foundations.

Alls[Hos. 8:6] her carved images shall be beaten to pieces,
t[Hos. 2:12; 9:1] all her wages shall be burned with fire,
and all her idols I will lay waste,
for fromt[Hos. 2:12; 9:1] the fee of a prostitute she gathered them,
and to the fee of a prostitute they shall return.

13 Harness the steeds to the chariots,

it was the beginning of sin
to the daughter of Zion,
for in you were found

14 Therefore you shall give parting gifts1Or give dowry
tog[ver. 1] Moresheth-gath;
the houses ofhJosh. 15:44 Achzib shall be a deceitful thing
to the kings of Israel.

15 I will again bringi[ch. 2:4; Jer. 6:12] a conqueror to you,
inhabitants ofh[See ver. 14 above] Mareshah;
the glory of Israel
shall come tojSee 1 Sam. 22:1, 2 Adullam.

16 kSee Isa. 22:12 Make yourselves bald and cut off your hair,
for the children of your delight;
kSee Isa. 22:12 make yourselves as bald as the eagle,
for they shall go from you into exile.
